The hunt for Osama

Here's the full context of the President's remarks about Osama Bin Laden, which Kerry used out of context last night, and one of his ads is also using, out of context (via JustOneMinute):

"BUSH: ...I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him. I know he is on the run. I was concerned about him, when he had taken over a country. I was concerned about the fact that he was basically running Afghanistan and calling the shots for the Taliban.

But once we set out the policy and started executing the plan, he became -- we shoved him out more and more on the margins. He has no place to train his al Qaeda killers anymore. And if we -- excuse me for a minute -- and if we find a training camp, we'll take care of it. Either we will or our friends will. "

Obviously, the President is saying he's not that concerned about Bin Laden because we've done so much to marginalize him! It's not that he "doesn't care" about Bin Laden, as Kerry tries to portray it.

Hey - I might be wrong here, but from reading some of your posts over the ast couple of days, I get the feeling you might possibly be voting for Bush?

Ummm... does it show?!? You found me out. :-)

Yes, I'm voting for Bush, and I'm praying for him, I'm working for his campaign as a volunteer, and I'm talking about him to everyone I can.

How about you, 28Days?

Me vote for Bush? Can't do that. Can't really tell everyone I know to vote for him either. But then I live in New Zealand so that explains that!

But then I'm not one for voting either. It would prbably be different if I did live (and vote) in the US. Having the two party system seems to produce a population with strong views.

Since we adopted MMP (Mixed Memeber Propotional) as our way of duely electing a government - We've never had a government we could trust. No one party can get in power now without forming a coalition, and trading what they belive in just to get into power. So what's the point of voting, if you donlt know who you're voting for any more........

Oops, now I'm ranting.... and probably sounding like a nut ;-)

Oh, that's right, 28Days! I should have remembered that you live in New Zealand.

Yes, having two parties leads to strong opinions, and right now, a lot of division. But that's not bad, in my opinion, because the two parties are SO different. There is a clear choice, and this election really is about America's future: Will we go forward with a moral compass guiding us through some tough decisions, or will we abandon God entirely? Will we have a president who believes in rooting out the terrorists wherever they are, or will we revert to a defensive mode, just waiting for the next attack and learning to live with them as "nuisances"? I don't think it's overstating it to say that this election is a struggle for the heart and soul of this country. Well, OK, maybe it's a little bit of an overstatment -- but not by much.
